Hasta la vista Espana!

After tears and hugs saying goodbye to the Santander families and a few hours on the bus we got to Madrid airport. All students now flying home. Mr Clarke and I want to thank this amazing group for a very fun 3 weeks. We are proud of them for their positive energy and kindness and we miss them already! We hope they have fallen in love with Spain and will come back soon. They have been generous ambassadors of Exeter and their countries. Gracias! Please email Sra when you get home and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Last trip to Guggenheim and Bilbao

Today was our last excursion!!! The students are packing and saying goodbye to their families. Spain will miss them!

Picos de Europa and Potes

Today we drove a couple hours west into the mountains, took a gondola up to see gorgeous views, visited the town of Potes and saw a very important Catholic relic you will have to ask the about... The group is now enjoying their last night in Santander with the families.

Last Spanish class and chocolate con churros

After saying goodbye to the Spanish teachers, going to the beach and shopping in the street markets we had a delicious thick hot chocolate with churros. The students are enjoying their last days and are starting to get sad about leaving Sunday night!

Final flamenco class and boat to Somo

The group demonstrated today amazing skills dancing the four Sevillanas and a paso double. We had beach weather so we took a small boat across the bay to a big beach called Somo.

Zip-lining and Matalenas Beach

After class today, we gathered for zip-lining and Tarazan-leaping among the trees. Then, it was off for a brisk swim/wade in the waves on Matalenas Beach; a lot of stairs to climb but well worth it.

Enjoying week 2

The group is enjoying more free time to explore Santander this week after Spanish class and Sevillanas. It has been cloudy for the last couple of days so they have been walking around, shopping and going to the movies. They are getting to be great dancers as you can see in these pictures.

Altamira, Santillana and Comillas

Today we started the day learning about prehistoric caves at Altamira and then visited two beautiful towns. In Santillana del Mar we learned about code of arms and in Comillas we got to see a Gaudi house. When we got to Santander some of us went to the beach.
